The ASI-IPFC12 presentations will be organized into two types of sessions: Themed and Special Sessions. Themed Sessions will group together talks on general research topics of interest, while Special Sessions will be run as mini-symposia, each focusing on a specific topical issue or question. Presentations in Special Sessions will be selected either by prior invitation or through a review process conducted by the session convenor(s). Additionally, a post-conference satellite symposium on “Ichthyology in the twilight zone: Recent research advances in deep-sea fishes” will take place in Okinawa, Japan on June 15, 2025. Participants are welcome to re-display posters from ASI-IPFC12 or present new ones.
As in previous years, the conference will include oral presentations, poster sessions, and five-minute lightning talks accompanied by poster displays to foster interaction and increase engagement among attendees. Oral Presentations
Oral presentations in both themed sessions and special sessions plus satellite symposium will be 10-13 minute long, followed by 2-5 minutes for discussion/question time and change-over, for a total of 15 minutes. A maximum speaking time of 12 minutes will be enforced. Please stick strictly to these time limits.

Each poster will be assigned a specific poster number, and presenters should display their posters on the designated poster board accordingly. Presenters are also invited to give a maximum five-minute talk to highlight their research during the assigned sessions, followed by discussion and questions during the poster sessions.
Information for Chairman
Please keep presenters strictly to time (i.e., maximum speaking time of 13 and 5 minutes for normal and lightning talks, respectively) and do not change the listed order of presentations. Titles and abstracts can be found in the program book. A student assistant will be present.
